As a seasoned financial services provider with a legacy spanning over 39 years, mastertrust empowers investors with offerings that include stock trading, forex trading, and investment advisory services. mastertrust was listed on the NSE in November 2024.

In this project, we rebranded the current app with revamped the user experience and redesigned the UI, which is one of the largest projects at mastertrust.

Since 2018, mastertrust's current trading app “mastermobile” experience has not been changed. Here are the key problems with the core experience.

To kick off the process, we conducted interactive sessions and product walkthroughs with key stakeholders, product managers, and the sales head. By analysing user needs through app reviews and support tickets, we identified critical pain points and laid the foundation for a solution that aligned both user expectations and business goals.

The new trading app strengthens the core trading experience by offering an intuitive and feature-rich platform. With watchlists, in-app customer support, and a streamlined interface, it cultivates user habits that encourage frequent trading while enhancing market accessibility.

For Agnik, we conducted design sprints to collaborate across departments, including Product Designers, Product Managers, and Stakeholders. These sprints served as a creative brainstorming platform where diverse perspectives came together. The primary goal of the sprints was to align all teams toward a unified objective — to structured the project into clear stages and sub-steps, ensuring a systematic approach to tackling complexities and refining the user experience at each phase.

To validate Agnik’s designs and test prototypes, we developed a detailed discussion framework and conducted a mix of in-person and remote user interviews. Testing involved over 10 participants, utilizing both controlled environments and lean research methods.
These sessions provided valuable insights into user behaviour, ensuring that each feature resonated with their needs. Feedback gathered during these tests helped refine key areas like navigation, trading Flow, and Personalisation need which will enhance overall usability.

Previously cluttered and outdated, the mastermobile app struggled to meet modern trading needs. Through a complete redesign, we’ve given it a polished, contemporary look paired with a highly functional experience. With scalable components and a focus on user-centric design, the revamped app ensures every action feels purposeful, helping traders navigate with confidence and ease.

Agnik’s Design System forms the foundation of its clean, cohesive UI, featuring multiple reusable components that integrate defined typography, dynamic icons, and versatile illustrations. Designed to adapt, it fully supports both light and black themes, ensuring an optimal experience regardless of user preference or environment. These modular components maintain consistency across themes, eliminating visual inconsistencies while streamlining design and development. As Agnik evolves, so does its design system, staying robust and future-ready.

Catering to multiple user types on a single platform presented unique challenges. Each group—seasoned traders, casual investors, and beginners—had distinct goals, behaviors, and needs. Agnik was designed to remain flexible and inclusive, ensuring every user felt the platform was tailored for them. By focusing on personalization and adaptability.
Agnik evolved into a space where diverse users could trade with confidence, regardless of their expertise. This user-first approach kept us grounded and relevant in an ever-changing trading landscape.
